Flipped Mastery – How I think about it

Here’s a quick blog post, well more like a “vlog” post about flipped mastery.

When I make videos I never ever have a script. As a flipped teacher who’s made over 500 videos in three years, you don’t really have the luxury of polished video production. I also tend to do one take, whatever I do in the first video, that’s what gets posted.

This video however, took a few takes. In each video I scribbled a different diagram out, trying to capture the essence of a flipped mastery classroom.

I’m still not quite sure I got it, but it’s as close as I’m going to get on this pass.

  1. Love the idea of slower students “learning 75%of the material well” rather than 100% poorly. Some students that come to my class have never passed so the B level content is not what they need (just yet). Some of my students have never gotten above a C so A level content is notwhat they need (just yet, but the goal will be to get them there eventually)
